March 1st, 2002: The Day Our Lives Changed Forever
We had our first date, a blind date, on March 1st, 2002. I was in my last year of graduate school in Ann Arbor and Scott was teaching at Southern Ohio College in Cincinnati (my hometown). One of Scott's students, who happened to be my hairdresser, convinced him to let her set him up on a blind date. Against his better judgment, Scott agreed to the date and arranged to take me out for coffee on my next visit home.
One cup of coffee just wasn't enough. We ended up spending the whole evening together. After leaving Starbucks we went to Newport Levy to watch the boats on the Ohio River. At the end of the evening Scott asked me to go with him to the Cincinnati Art Museum the next day. The rest, as they say, is history. We have been together ever since.
On April 30th, 2005, in front of my closest friends, Scott asked me to be his wife. My reply: "You didn't even have to ask." We have been on cloud 9 ever since!
